"Rings Of History" is a travelling exhibition to celebrate the diversity of Australian timbers. A number of Australian artists were asked to provide work to showcase rare and unusual timbers.
In conjunction with the exhibition's visit to the Hazelhurst Gallery, Gymea, Southern Region provided a two day exhibition of their own work and demonstrations of woodturning. The Gallery also organised talks and demonstrations over the weekend which included the Marquestry Guild, a demonstration of vacuum forming of veneers to make vases and a visit from ABC radio's 'Weekend Woodies' (Les Miller, Simon Marney and Peter Macia) who simulated their one hour radio show with questions and answers from the audience.
